The Revelle Raven bows are carbon-graphite. Carbon-graphite is an industry term referring to a bow that is an extruded tube of carbon fibers bound together with a epoxy resin. This type of bow is not the same as more expensive bows with carbon fiber fabric (called braided carbon fiber bows) bonded to a solid acoustic core of Kevlar or other similar fibers.
A great performance bow for intermediate player, the Raven's immunity to warping makes it controllable and forgiving, with a consistency typically found only in professional level bows.
Note: the ½ size, just over 25” long (a 4/4 bow is 29”+) is a great bow for travel violins, as it is only 2” longer than a typical travel violin, allowing for a shorter tubular case.
