Mature, rich and broad sound with subtle nuances thanks to premium Italian aged (7+ years) wood. A refined and seducing instrument for the advanced performer.
The exceptionally elegant, top of the line Revelle 700QX boasts a remarkably rich color palette and a mature, broad sound. A most rewarding instrument for the advanced performer featuring superior sound, playability and aesthetic form, it is made of mature seasoned European maple and spruce by highly skilled violin makers and 100% sound adjusted in the U.S. for optimum performance.
Capable of subtle nuance and projection, this full size Revelle instrument is adorned with Thomastik-Infeld strings, a premium Despiau bridge, well seasoned ebony fittings (closed-grained), Hill style tuner, and more.
The varnish on this instrument is especially nice. It has the classical hand-rubbed oil look that some call "antiqued"; however, it does not faux wear marks often present with an antiqued varnish treatment.
When set up as a fiddle, the Revelle Model 700 is without peer. It is an all around better instrument than its well-known and popular competitors. The tone is dark and powerful. It is quite loud and focused and responds beautifully to the bow, probably more so than the intermediate player would prefer…the instrument is a racehorse rather than a workhorse. It is an instrument for a player who knows what she is doing and wants to be heard.
The default setup is Contemporary Orchestral Violin. There are numerous other setup options. See Setup Options or click on the "Setup Options for Violins and Fiddles" link on the left for detailed descriptions of these options.
