The Falcon Cello Bow is a member of new family of true high performance bows by Revelle. We rate its performance somewhere between a Glasser braided carbon fiber bow and a CodaBow Diamond Series Gold or CodaBow Joule, or even some of the ultra-expensive Arcus bows. The Falcon bows, while hardly dirt cheap, are more affordable that other bows in its class.
Recommended Uses for This Bow (Besides Cello)
We strongly endorse this bow for playing our T-Rex Octave Viola.
We also recommend this bow as the best alternative for our larger octave violins, the T-Max Tenor Long Scale Octave Violin or the V-8vb Long Scale Octave Violin for players who prefer the extra heft of a cello bow to pull the notes on these larger instruments, at least on certain types of tunes.
Professional level bow for advanced players
The Falcon is for the advanced player or professional player. It is an elegant and professional level performance bow made from high density Japanese carbon fiber around a sophisticated proprietary core. The bow provides responsiveness and appropriate stiffness and balance. The Falcon has a powerful, broad sound and clarity with every bow stroke.
Japanese Carbon Fiber?
We laughed the first time we heard about the “Japanese carbon fiber” attribute. Is there really such thing as Japanese carbon fiber, which differentiates it from other carbon fiber, except for the fact that it is made in Japan? After some research, we found that “Japanese carbon fiber” is a real designation for the highest quality CF, typically used in the aerospace industry. Apparently, it is made in such a way as to be stronger and more consistent. Who knew?
