When an order is received, Kevin Reynolds (KDR Music, sole U.S. distributor for Heinrich Gill), who has been our Heinrich Gill representative for years (and knows what we expect!) hand-picks an instrument (sometimes two) meeting our stringent standards and then express-ships it to us. This generally takes about 2 days.
We receive the instrument without a sound post, bridge or strings. We then meticulously set it up to your preferences and for the very best sound possible. Obviously, an orchestral violinist and a fiddler will want very different setups. We have established an excellent reputation for setting up instruments so as to delight our customers, whether they be Scottish, Irish, Old-time or Bluegrass style fiddlers, or classical violinists. Generally, within hours of your order, we will contact you to discuss setup. All told, you will usually receive your customized instrument in less than a week from placing your order.
The listed price is for the instrument only. We have nice cases starting at about $125. Suitable bows start in the low $200s. Let us know if you want to discuss a bow and/or a case.
