Product Description

German Made master bow; legally obtained wood!

Georg Werner Master Violin Bow Octagonal Shaft, Germany:
Georg Werner Workshop (part of the renowned Doerfler bow workshop) Bows from Germany. Perfect for the performer who wants to move up to a quality European bow... at an affordable price! For three generations, the Doerfler family workshop in Bubenreuth, Germany has been producing shop-made bows from the finest materials.

This bow is a Master Bowed stamped “Georg Werner”. It has an octagonal pernambuco shaft with a Parisian eye button (silver and pearl) on the ebony frog. Windings are Silver. This is a bona fide master level pernambuco bow. It has the stiffness and balance that one expects in a master level octagonal stick (stiffer than round shaft) pernambuco bow. It exceeds the ability to control expression and nuance of all but the very best carbon fiber bows.

A perfect bow for late 18th Century pochette, such as the Neil Gow II Pochette or the Glasgow Pochette. This is a "modern" (late 18th Century through today) Tourte bow that is an historically legitimate bow for late 18th Century instruments, as well as mid-19th Century, early 20th Century Old Time fiddle or even modern fiddle or violin.
